What we found
- Hard starting and an uneven idle; the preheating system is not working
- The inspector’s assessment records poor engine assembly and injection problems
- Blue smoke on start-up, with burnt-oil and exhaust smells under the bonnet
- Oil traces on an air-conditioning pipe
- An airbag fault in the OBD report; a fault with the front centre parking sensor
- Heavy steering, strong prop-shaft knocks and a front right suspension knock
Inspector's conclusion
We advised against buying. At an asking price of €8,500, the inspection raised serious concerns about engine assembly, starting and injection, together with safety and driveline faults. The inspector explicitly warned that the engine would require substantial expenditure.
