Who is behind this
Aleksandr Zakharchuk founded 1in.pt in 2025. He has always been close to cars — but never wanted to open yet another dealership running on gut feeling. He decided to do it the other way around: start with the numbers, before any car was on the lot.
Before the commercial side started, it was months of studying the Portuguese and European market — which models actually sell, at which price, in how many days, with what margin. Only after that did the dealership open. The name Strong Theory comes from this: solid theory before practice. We are not the biggest dealership in Portugal. We are trying to be the most honest.
Beyond market analysis, Aleksandr has deep hands-on mechanical experience. He spent years competing in 4x4 off-road trophy raids — he knows by heart what a transfer case, a drive shaft, a low-range gearbox or a locking differential actually do, and knows how to swing a High-Lift jack when the car is buried halfway up a mountain trail. This isn't catalogue theory — it's the kind of knowledge you only earn by having been stuck.
He has driven essentially every type of car there is: convertibles, 4x4s, sedans, station wagons, hatchbacks and motorhomes. In summer 2025 he crossed all of Europe by motorhome — thousands of kilometres, several countries, every kind of road and weather. He holds a BE driving licence and is at home behind the wheel with a trailer. For him cars aren't just business — it's a lifelong technical closeness that he brings to every vehicle he assesses for a client.
Our story
1in.pt is a young company — opened in 2025 — but the approach is different from day one. Most of the Portuguese used-car market runs on intuition: you trust the person on the other side of the table. When it is a €25 000 used car, that is expensive.
We built our own system that tracks every listing in Portugal and Germany, refreshed several times a day. We give the client the same information we have — real market price, typical time-to-sale, PT vs DE comparison, ISV calculated before it is paid. That is what we mean by data-driven. It is not a slogan. It is the way we work.
