What we found
- Substantial oil leaks: traces around the upper timing cover and valve cover, with drops under the engine
- The inspector recorded numerous engine faults in the OBD diagnostic results
- Front suspension repairs needed: control-arm bushes and the right shock absorber
- Front wings have been replaced; damage to the front right tyre sidewall
- Reduced performance, pulling to the right, a front left knock and a burning smell after the drive
- A windscreen chip; the inspector also noted wear on the roof
Inspector's conclusion
We advised against buying. Oil leaks, engine faults and a substantial suspension repair list were the main concerns. Replaced front wings and tyre damage were also documented: the problems went beyond the convertible’s appearance.
